Dorchester Projects' Black Cinema House served as the Chicago counterpart to Gates’ Huguenot House project in Kassel, Germany for dOCUMENTA (13). Twelve Ballads for Huguenot House references the musical offerings that were filmed within the Chicago building before it was renovated in Summer 2011. The home’s carefully deconstructed materials were then shipped to Germany and reused as the raw material for the construction and inhabitation of Huguenot House.
